Abstract:
This paper mainly aims at studying how importnat the results of a graph based common case and strong interference models of Wireless Mesh Networks in a link layerprotocol. To Unitize the wireless channel full extent, it is studied how random access has to be developed as it bears several advantages in wireless network to support neighbouring senders and receivers. It is found that, CTS and payload frame transmissions need to be synchronized between neighbouring stations and RTS frames must not be synchronized. A basic link layer protocol is also introduced in this paper to realize Wireless Mesh Networks that are able to operate without losing bandwidth and is enhanced to better support load adoption, traffic, dynamic routing and multiple Hotspots. It is observed that, the enhanced protocol is quite complex and requires further fine tuning to find a suitable tradeoff between fast reaction on unsynchronized packet transmission and poll transmission to the Hotspot.
